A ritual night with Mephistofeles

Some gigs become rituals. This is one of them.

We invite you to step through the Wormhole, leave the daylight behind, and join our cult as Mephistofeles transforms an ordinary Tuesday into an evening where distortion becomes a witches’ chant and every note pulls a little harder on gravity.

On August 4, The Wormhole Cult opens a portal for one of only two Dutch appearances by Argentina’s occult doom phenomenon Mephistofeles. This will be the only show where the entire evening belongs to them. No strict time slot. No rush. Just Mephistofeles with complete freedom to shape the night as they see fit.  Never heard songs, new songs – we expect something rare: a set that can only exist under these conditions.

From the underground of Paraná, Argentina, Mephistofeles emerge with riffs that feel less like songs and more like slow-moving gravitational fields that pull you into deep darkness. Their records drift between crushing weight, narcotic repetition and melodies that seem to arrive from somewhere south of heaven. Every doomy riff unfolds like an invocation. Every song lingers long enough to alter the room. This is occult doom stripped of ornament: hypnotic, ritualistic and impossibly heavy fuzzed-out riffs, the amplifiers becoming the gateways of the ceremony.

There are places where music is performed. And there are places where it is summoned. On August 4 we gather for the latter. Leave certainty and reason outside. Follow the low frequencies into the dark and become part of a night where time slows, gravity bends and the audience dissolves into a satanic ritual.
